I finished this garment a while ago but couldn’t wear it until recently due to the unusually warm fall weather we’ve been experiencing here in New England. It’s the violet knit jacket from StyleArc and I was drawn to the oversized semi-vest, semi-cardigan look. Of course, I purchased it from Amazon and decided to make a size 8 because I knew it was going to be oversized. I think the sizing turned out perfectly.
I used a thick gray heathered wool knit from FabricMart that I bought a few years ago. I’m very happy with how the garment turned out and the fabric was a great match for the pattern. It’s a bit itchy but works well since I’ll always be wearing it over something, and in particular, I really like wearing it with a turtleneck (my orange one photographed extremely bright in these pictures!).
The pattern was really easy to put together and I used my serger for most of the construction. The only time I used my sewing machine was to baste in the armhole bands, which easily fit in. I included the facing piece for the front and the double layer helps the front drape better. I also topstitched around the entire front piece and around the neck.
Well, I guess I don’t have much else to say about the pattern other than I really like the finished product!
