I wasn’t immediately drawn to this pattern but after seeing some lovely garments on patternreview.com I thought I should give it a go. Plus, I need all the experience I can get sewing with knits.
I cut the pieces to make dress D but after finishing the top I realized the fabric was way too thin for the skirt and cut the bottom to make the top C instead, which turned out the be the right decision. Also, I need some serious help doing narrow hems on knits, especially along curved edges (i.e. the armholes) – anyone know of a good tutorial or tips??
The top was quick and easy to make, but don’t look close at the seams…they aren’t pretty. After reading the reviews online I chose one size smaller than I normally would and the fit is great. The only change I would make in the future is to reduce the amount of fabric hanging in the front…it is just a tad too much.
Dan and I talked…he improved his photography skill immensely. Thanks Dan!
I’m dressed up here to go candlepin bowling with some friends for a birthday. One of the gifts for her was a set of adhesive mustaches…hence the following pictures. Enjoy! And as my mom said, “Yikes!”
